In total agreement there! I am currently in a toss between a BenQ or Viewsonic as a gift for someone at this time while looking over some 17" and 19" models alike. I've seen excellent results here with their line and can easily recommend some models to look over.

Between BenQ and Viewsonic you won't see any regrets there. Just take of it when you get it in. :)
 
I have ordered the Viewsonic 19in Widescreen and some suckier parts for altogether 1050$ w/ tax. I will pick it up soon.

I have been wandering, should i just forget about the LCD and keep my original build?
It is way better.

You haven't mentioned what your original build was. Did that have a crt? It seems you have already decided on one Viewsonic model. Other then the monitor there's nonthing else to compare.
 
That's where the edit feature can be useful at times. :) So you are just going with the same Viewsonic model you had already picked out previously there. The weight on those will be slightly heavier then the standard 19" models by a small margin while the concern there is having it where no one will bump into it due to the added width. The one obstacle with lcds over crts is weight near at the bottom. Take care of it.
