Low PC performance when plugged into surge protector?

Hey guys, a friend of mine is having a problem with his gaming PC at the moment. Whenever we have a LAN party, we have to plug into a surge protector so all of us can get power to our computers.

The problem is is one of my friend's computers has really low PC performance when he plugs into the surge protector, even when he is the only one on it. His computer also has the least amount of wattage in his PC, but it will work in any other wall socket just fine. Everyone Else's computer runs fine, and my one friend needs 600w to run his, and he does not lose performance. I tried to find out what the problem could be, but I couldn't find anything. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance guys!

EDIT: as soon as I posted this, i decided to reset the high performance power settings to default and it seemed to work. Thanks anyways!

My first question would be what make and model of power supply he has and what is the rest of his specs?
