Low power cpu

I am looking for a low consuming cpu.

What choices do I have?

Budget is not a problem..

I just want something that won't come with a nasty electric bill

Low consumption of power and good speed

The Core 2 Duo's are pretty low power consuming than most of the processors out there right now.

I don't think mobile cpu's are the best ocer's

Laptop CPU's actually OC quite well on desktops, as they consume less power and produces less heat, giving it a good amount of headroom. But, a Core2Duo would be pretty good for your causes, as they are fast, relatively inexpensive (the low end ones) and really fast.

the new 65nm 3600+ is the cheapest dual core and least power consumption but really low performance compared it other CPU's. But i seen it Oced closed to 2.7ghz so at that speed its like a Athlon FX-62 or Athlon 5200+
