LG R500 GeForce 8600M GT died ?

Hi,
My LG R500-V.CPF1A9 boot up without any display under Windows 7. It log in, and I could also shut it down with ALT+F4. I would like to know if it's the Video Card, or maybe something else ?

I try to plug an other screen on it, but i'm not sure if i'm doing the good keybord shortcut to switch screen. Do you know the shortcut?

My last question : I do a lot of video editing, is it better in this case to have a very good video card, or a better CPU to accelerate the rendering ?

The key combination changes depending on your laptop, IIRC. You'll have to go by what the pictures on the keys say, lol. The manual will also probably tell you.

The other screen doesn't respond at all. So, I guest it's the video card.

What do you think about my last question : I do a lot of video editing, is it better in this case to have a very good video card, or a better CPU to accelerate the rendering ? Do you know a model who fit with my laptop ?

Just so you know, every laptop with those series of graphics cards, perhaps other series of cards as well, have a manufacturing defect. The solder they used is no good and leads to the chips dying and running very hot. Better to find a newer laptop with a different chip or an older one prior to all the problems.
