Mac book won't turn on.

My sister has a mac book 2007 era that won't turn on. We have tried everything on the apple support site, bought a new battery for it. Nothing has worked. I'm doing everything I can to not have to send this damn thing in to apple. Any other suggestions?

If it's that old I doubt Apple would even want to work on it.

-Dropped?
-Been spilled on?
-Any other overlooked damage?

Did you check that the charger is working?

Remove the battery, hold down the power button for 10 secs. Replace battery, try turning it on.

I've tried all that stuff. Nothing works. The hard drive was replaced under warranty back in 2008. I'm wondering if another HD didn't fail.

im not 100% sure about mac but i dont think a failed hard drive would stop it from turning on, would still turn on but wouldnt boot*. might be the main board though

*as i said im not 100% with macs so i might be completely wrong
