Mac hard drive partition back

I had bootcamp installed on an older mac and got rid of it i couldnt through the application so i deleted it manually but now my hard drive wont let me partition that space back together does anyone have any ideas how to do it?

Instead of trying to create a partition over it, have you tried deleting that partition and making it "free space"?

When using Disk Utility, use the Erase tab and just create one single partition.

Did you check the Bootcamp Assistant?

Open Boot Camp Assistant.
Select “Remove Windows 7 or later version," then click Continue.
Do one of the following:
If your Mac has a single internal disk, click Restore.
If your Mac has multiple internal disks, select the Windows disk, select “Restore disk to a single OS X partition,” then click Continue.

ive tried that also and it wont let me do anything i guess since im using such an old version of it

went back in and all its letting me do is partition it more

The only other way I found you can do it is to wipe and reinstall OSX. You could always do a backup with Time Machine and restore the backup once you've reinstalled OSX.

What version of OSX are you running? You can use Internet Recovery with 10.7 Lion onward.
