Mac O'C

....

well put :)
of course, you can upgrade a mac, but they still overprice the secondary hardware because it needs to be made to fit..
--My mac has been modified with secondary hardware and never once have I had to make a part “fit” into where it should go. If you know what you’re doing and you’re a little computer savvy then upgrading your mac should be a piece of cake. I find it easier to get into my mac then it is to get into my pc. And like I said, never once have I had to make a piece fit into my mac… I don’t get what you mean be that??

and then theres installation. who wants to pull apart an iMac?
--Who upgrades and Imac?
i sure dont, they're like upright laptops, only not very portable... lol –
--Imac’s are not meant to be portable. Hopefully you not lugging around an imac thinking it’s a laptop. But by you computer mentality it could be a good possibility.

the only advantage mac's have are a very white futuristic look to them
--I have not saw a mac which is all white? Or do you mean an Imac? One again you comparing apples to oranges, sorry no pun intended.

and more desk space. of course, throw the tower on the ground
--My G4 tower is on the ground?

and buy an LCD, save $300 and who cares if it looks futuristic as long as it performs futuristic right?
-- So everyone who buys a mac, buys it because of the “futuristic look”?

boat anchor... hahaha... i think ive heard that before lol

Obviously your comparing every apple computer to some imac that you once saw.
I’m sorry that Apple products are to expensive for your taste, but they really are great computers. It’s funny that you see on ebay a pc system from 4 years ago going for 100-200 dollars if that, but a mac from that same time frame is still getting 400-500 dollar bids for the tower itself…

Side note – I’m not a fan boy, but I do own both and I use my pc more on a daily basis than my mac.

Jeez what a bunch of fanboys... i hate that word but that just sums up all of those that started to trash mac's as soon as they were even mentioned.
He wasn't asking an opinion as mentioned earlier and yet you still carried on bickering, idiots.

Anyway, it would appear that a fair few people have been overclocking macs; i did a search on google (hint hint) and this is the first link that i came to http://www.lowendmac.com/macdan/02/0624ek.html

in terms of the towers they sell, i wasn't talking about the towers not being upgradable. i was talking about iMacs, the standard home pc's they sell.
the towers are way overpriced...
not everyone buys a mac because of the futuristic look... but because of lack of knowledge... or surplus of money lol and lack of care
"But by you computer mentality it could be a good possibility."
i dont like the fact that you're attacking my intelligence. i probably know more about computer hardware than you do :P
"Obviously your comparing every apple computer to some imac that you once saw. "
actually no, i was talking about a quote that ive HEARD BEFORE!
"I’m sorry that Apple products are to expensive for your taste, but they really are great computers."
now calling me cheap are we? or are you saying that im wise?
i dont buy a pair of jeans for $80 if the ones on the next rack are the same quality, different brand for $20 instead!
"It’s funny that you see on ebay a pc system from 4 years ago going for 100-200 dollars if that, but a mac from that same time frame is still getting 400-500 dollar bids for the tower itself…"
yet another instance of a mac being overpriced... i could build a NEW pc, high quality... for $500, easily.
COUGHidiotCOUGH
are you just rich or something and like to throw money away? funny how you are defending MAC's but you use your pc more often... wonder why lol

sry i really do hate mac's tho...
i guess its because of what i use my computer for, and what i need my computer for.
it's all preference really.. just more people prefer PC lol
of course, i wasn't trying to offend anyone. i love this though..
"I’m sorry that Apple products are to expensive for your taste, but they really are great computers."
pc = just as great for less price

I agree that this thread got out of hand and I just wanted to state that I can definitely respect Fades and anyone else’s opinion on macs. I’m not here to fight or argue with others.

Ok, lets quote you first attempt to 'help' in this thread;

if you have a Mac... trash it.
omg...

If someone has questions about their hardware, why not try and answer them instead of bashing their systems?
