LOL,really?im glad thats just an opinion, not facts.
On paper they are superior as well in many regards. Laptops are built for mobility and Apple has the best performance to power consumption ratio out there on their laptops.
well. when comparing mac to ''normal'' pc's its not quite fair if you have a custom build gaming computer now is it.
lets say for once compare a macbook air(2 gb) to a normal samsung laptop
for working use and gaming use
the mac is smaller easier to travel with but lacks a bigger screen its fast and the keyboard is simply awesome for everything (just my opinion) the graphics are not super but they work fine.
and for the samsung
its a 4 gb with a 2.1 processor windows 7 (3 gb ram usable) 16'inch screen
keyboard is fragile and you are scared of breaking it when you type on it
graphics card is ATi MR 4330
what would you chose for school work/lil gaming small games only
facts and opinions!
Well, Macs graphics cards only really do one thing, they improve gaming or rendering. However if you want to talk about pure performance Hollywood movies are cut, edited, and post produced on Macbook Pros. That is right a laptop.
Google just ditched all their PCs and went Mac. The military, NASA, government offices are putting Macs in their environment. Private businesses are also deploying Macs. Apple has a 25% consumer market share and about a 8% to 10% world market share. There is a reason a lot of companies/people are ditching PCs.
Also, hardware doesn't equal better performance always. It is software that really determines how well a computer runs. The OS and apps you run must be efficiently coded for your hardware.
On paper the Mac is superior in many ways. It's draw backs are windows only apps that you would have to dual boot your Mac, run WINE or a virtual machine to run, direct X, and of course preference. Some people prefer the lay out of Windows. Macs can run all Windows apps though, but you may have to dual boot. Developers like Autodesk are developing their apps (AutoCAD series) for the first time on the Mac. Why is that? It is because people are gradually switching.
I think Apple had like a 3% market share back in 2001 or so. Since they have have jumped to just under 10% market share. They are some of the most commonly sold laptops to college students. Apple has led in university sales for several years, though this year it seems Dell is going to out sell them, and well I mean 2010 since 2011 just started we have no idea how many Apple will sell this year.
