Hey, i was wondering how to type on a mac. what program does it use? and can it save as a word document and opened on a windows pc? if not, do i need a specific printer for the damn thing? thnx!

You can get Microsoft Office for Mac, or Apple Works, which generally comes with the computer. I believe if you use Microsoft Office for Mac it'll open on a Windows computer with Microsoft Office. Or if worst comes to worst, just save it as a RTF.

I actually do have MS Word on my mac, but you can also get Open Office. Great office suite for basically any OS.

Yea I like Open Office better but my professors keep making us type with a certain font only found on Word. I tried to use one that looked similar on Open Office and I failed the paper because he said that I was cheating or something. Old coot.

What in the world? Well I'm sure you could find the font somewhere, but still, that's just stupid...

That was my argument too but then he said something about not having computers much less fonts in the Depression and that I was a pansy. Nah just kidding but I told him that I have a Mac and he literally told me, "Then get Office for Mac..." and left. I eventually dropped the class for other reasons but it was not an uncommon tale around the campus of teacher's requiring certain fonts and really checking them. So I caved and got it but still.
