mac vs pc

can someone give me a detailed difference between mac and PC and keep it detailed but simple to easily understand, like all the difference between parts and the OS andeveything

I never even consider Macs for one simple reason.

They are incredibly overpriced for the hardware you're getting.

That's not exactly answering your question though....

2 things separate them. Operating system, and build quality.
OSX is the main difference, and via the T&C it can not be installed on a non apple branded computer (in those exact words). Basically meaning that in order to have the cutting edge, OSX OS, you have to pay out the bum for a little bit of hardware to run it legally. (if apple would open up to the custom market, they would get a lot more revenue).

so pretty much they stick some overpriced shit in a box and people just buy it for the OS?

its a little more complicated than that.
Take for example OSX 10.6.8. Sold through the apple shop for $39 shipped. People put their money into it not because of the os, but because it is the only viable commercial alternative the Microsoft BS thats on the market. Like said above, I bet if they added AMD support and entered the market of custom builds, a lot would go over to them because of the faith lost from M$.

and do they have something stopping you from putting it on a custom build or is it just illegal, i know quite a few people with it on their custom PCs

asking a fanboy whats better. thats a good move.

Better:
Security -> OSX
gaming -> Windows (OSX is catching up)
efficiency -> OSX
business software -> OSX = Windows
CAD -> OSX

you see where this is going, right?

I have a PC. Its running Hackentosh (10.6.8).
I simply dont have the cash for a MBP or Macpro laying around. If I did, I would get ine in a heartbeat.
