Mac vs. PC

Definitely PC man, its a no-brainer, Macs are just overpriced pieces of.......I will let you finish that.

piece of what ? eh ?..go on say it.

watch your wording there. You said pc's when i believe you meant windows. :D

If I recall PC's are still the best priced and best performing computers. Not to mention the most tweakable, and the most customizable.

edit: also, you make the statement dictating that all PC's are low end. Just because you pay less for the same (if not more) performance doesnt mean your machine is "low end".

here in lies the problem with your logic. Apple designs their computers from the ground up, just like a high end car does. They design the hardware specifically for their software. Then they write their own OS, which is very different from standard Unix, but is based on BSD. So, there is definitely a higher quality control. Where as PC manufacturers develop their hardware for a broad spectrum of third party devices, OSes, software, hardware, etc. Therefore you get less quality control. Obviously a company like Asus can not test their hardware in every possible configuration so you will always see performance issues, compatibility issues so on and so forth on the PC side. Where on the Mac side of things you don't have those issues because it is a more of a closed system.

I mean would you want to put non Porcshe parts in your high end Porcshe? No, you would want OEM parts because the car was designed a certain way. So, yes Macs are really higher end machines all around. This type of quality control also makes the computer more expensive to manufacture.

Now add in all the built in features and software you get with a Mac out of the box and compare it to what you get out of the box with Linux or Windows. It won't evenly compare unless you spend money on third party software, that could very well have compatibility issues or performance issues with your hardware/software configuration.

Therefore, Macs are definitely higher end machines from this perspective.
