Mac vs PC

this type of discussion has been had and we need not go there again. plus, it is only sure to start a flame war.
 
What are you using it for? Macbooks I like better, but I can get a Windows laptop for the same price as a Macbook that has a good CPU, GPU, and RAM and then game with it.
 
Maybe we should agree not to post on this thread other then to say that it's personal prefrence, beacuse from what I have seen previously I this will just turn into a very basic flame war.

Both are excellent computers, however, I prefer PC's, seems like you have to download a lot of things on the Mac to be compatible with PC things, or so I have seen with my grandmothers.

But then again, I don't use Mac's, which could be the problem.
 
I think if everyone behaves themselves, not trying to offend anyone, but if we just give common knowledge on a PC or a Mac, we can help answer this persons thread.


Depends on what you'll be doing. I have a gaming PC, and I bought a MacBook for school.
 
i will just say. dont need to hunt me down. but i think they both have there up and downs. macs have much user frendly interfase where windoes is a bit more open a and you have more things to "mod". windows is good for more gaming but macs have a good sturdy os. there ore other things but i cant think of them... again no fiting. it is just truth.
 
well, im hoping to get a macbook pro for Christmas, because i want to try them out

but from what i know, a mac is better for someone who wants to do basic things without ever having problems and a very user friendly interface, however pcs CAN do more (because they support more software)

thats basically because they came first and now have the majority of the market
 
MACs are better for Image/Video editing...

But as Brianmay27 said, they both have their Ups and Downs
 
i like macs because they are really nice to use. but windows is better because it has more software made for it and stuff
 
yeah. personaly i cant wait to get my mac. MY BROTHER STILL OWES ME 500$!!! so i would have it by now. but i dont :( pulling my butt working for the money he ant paying me back any time soon.

learned lesson. dont lend brothers money but he is paying me 50 extra $ :cool: (his idea not mine)
 
Mac is only for work. I use them at school, you would be hard pressed to find a game that supports macs, I think UT2004 does but that's the only game one I think, the only good game at least. :P

PCs are more versatile and easier to maintain, you can just pop down to the local computer store to get parts but I don't think you can do that for a Mac. Macs are so expensive and hard to use. PC wins hands down.
 
PC's WILL ALWAYS win over macs.. because most experienced pc users build their own pc's from the best parts they can find for the best price .. where as macs are just mainstream parts in a fancy case which are then knocked off for triple its value price to the nearest non aware customer ..and when it comes to laptops.. the mac laptop is still at the bottom of the barrel with brands like alienware and voodoo at the top...however if all u want is a nice looking computer to just do the basic needs (internet,music,word processing and other media) and u have the money then a mac is an ok choice :)
