Macbook or Macbook Pro?

Hello All

So I've decided that I can justify purchasing an older model Apple Laptop (2006 or so) from Ebay.

I do know that I am looking for a Macbook or Macbook Pro. What I don't know is all the different varieties there are (if any)

If some of you out there have any insight to provide me when buying one, I'd really appreciate it.

I am aware that this post is very vague in the sense that I'm not comparing specific models. I just want to know from your experience, which models seem to be worth it for your money, especially in a used condition.

Personally I would go with a Macbook Pro, the Macbook had more problems with the Logic Boards from what I remember seeing on the web. Not to mention the Macbook Pro came with more RAM so if you decided to upgrade your OS to Lion, Mountain Lion or the new one coming out Maverick you would be able to run them more comfortably.
