Hey how's it going.
I have a 2008 Macbook Pro and I am looking to upgrade the RAM in it. Hopefully replace the stock RAM for 3-4GBs. I think it handles 4GBs max, but only sees 3.3GBs of it Ive heard.
My current memory is stock, it is 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM at 2GBs
I found a bunch of stuff on newegg but there are two different categories, one for Mac ram and the other just plain desktop ram. Are they both compatible with each other or are they separated for a reason?
For example.
Mac RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820134560
Reg. Laptop RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231135
These are both the same in my opinion.
Price is not a problem, just whatever is best for the computer.
Thank you
p.s.- if possible, I would also like to upgrade the hard drive. I know it's possible to replace the internal one by myself, but do you think that is okay, or should I just get an external ( I would rather not, it's just more weight and baggage). Any Mac HD recommendations?
