Machine does not boot into Windows.

I have two practically identical systems under my desk. Both with the same motherboard, CPU, RAM, graphics cards, both WERE running 24/7 as BOINC crunchers. I needed to do some work and shut them down. When I restarted them, one came up as usual, and continued with its BOINC tasks. The other did not, it came up into the BIOS. I started to reinstall Windows, (8.1 x64), it gets as far as "remove the install media and start normally). It boots into the BIOS. Assuming a problem with the SSD, I tried the install on its second, much newer SSD, exactly the same result. Eliminating possibilities, I have tried putting both the SSD's in this machine, no change. Any idea what to try next?
