What do you think of it? I saw someone posted something about madden not being good since ps2, and i totally agree, Madden 04 (the one with vick on the cover) is definately my favorite. Anyway, after i bought 08 for the ps3 and was so disapointed with it i decided to hold off buying 09 (which, from what i've read, sounds like it was a good idea) but after not playing a football game in almost 3 years i was fining for some football and bought madden 10.
i've had it for a couple weeks and so far i have to say its decent by 04's standards but definitely much better then 08. a few of the thing i liked were the graphics (theyre the best ive seen and players look very realistic), the animations (gang tackles are sweet and the motions of players are smooth and realistic for the most part), and the soundtrack (they've got a LOT of songs, classic songs too, not just new artists like it used to be, and even though its a small thing its nice)
gameplay is fair, i have a lot of trouble running the ball, even with good offensive linemen and runningbacks. So far it seems like the opposite of how real football is, where you've got to run the ball to set up the pass; instead of throwing to setup the run, which is what it's been like for me so far.
A few of the bad things: announcers suck (nothing new there), the halftime show is a good idea but a bad execution (they need to bring back the radio guy from 05), and a few animations get really repetitive..at first the chain gang thing was cool but after the 50th time its just annoying and same with the refs huddling to decide a touchdown (if anyone found a way to turn them off let me know).
So overall, its an OK game, it'll get me my football game fix, but they have a lot of work to do to get it back to what it was in the past years.
