I finally decided to make a backup copy of the game Mafia: City of Lost Heaven since it isn't easity available any more. Because the game is SafeDisk v2 protected I used Slysoft CloneCD to copy CD 1 which is the play disk, the game works perfectly with the backup disk but when I install the v1.2 patch it gives me errors when I run the game with the backup copy, the original works normally, should I have used Alcohol 120% ore something else to make the backup better?

All you can do is try. You might consider leaving your back up as an image file though and burning it to disk as a data CD. You can then install the game using daemon tools or other emulation software and this usually works fine.

Remember folks we are talking about backing up already owned software.

I would certainly recommend Alcohol 120%. Great for backing up CD's and some DVD-ROM games.

CloneCD has managed to make me some backups, is there a possibility that Alcohol 120% would do it even better?
