Major Problem

Hey guys

I recently got a new laptop. Its an Acer Aspire 5670 and its pure class.
There is one huge problem though...overheating.
I have no problem keeping it on my lap, but its the mousepad that drives me nuts. After some usage the mousepad gets so hot that it literaly can burn my finger!

I don't know what to do! Please help, this is a major problem (and no, I do not want to use a mouse).

Is there anything I can do about this?

Thanks

You can try using NHC (Notebook Hardware Control) to reduce the clock and voltage when not needed. You can do a search on it in this forum. I think I wrote a tiny tutorial on it somewhere.

A note to this thread you shouldn't really be using a laptop on your lap anyway.

To add to this thread usefully though. Using it on your lap may be the problem. A laptop disperse's heat through its body aswell as through the obvious where the fans are. If you have it on your lap and it is overheating then obviously other parts are going to get hotter.
