Major Problem!!!!

my brother was messing around trying to get the home network up and running and he deleted a few files while he was on to make my computer faster. but now when i turn my computer on an error message comes up saying

Cannot find SYSTEM.INI.

Boot with Emergency Boot Disk and type SCANREG /RESTORE


what does this mean???? what is an EBD??

Plz help it's an emergency.

Also i'm sorry if this is on the wrong board. I didn't know which one to put it on.

it means one of your system files was deleted. making a bootdisk(can find lots via google) and using the given command should repair it

You can probably get away with popping a WindowsXP CD in, booting off it and going into the recovery console and trying that command
