Major Problem!!!

there is one on there that says power on it. now when you say ground the power switch pins on the MoBo w/ a jumper do you mean like rip the wire off the plug and connect it to the prong on the MoBo through a paperclip or somethin?

and another ?.... what would happen if i had a bad motherboard... what action would i have to take to get my PC up and runnin again?

I dont mean rip it off, just pull the power wire switch leads off the pins and put a jumper on it like the ones on your drives

grrr i still dont understand... im sry. i know i have to do something to kind of revive it but could u explain it with more detail b/c im so0o0o lost : (

The power switch wire that comes from the case to the motherboard should have two wires togather - +, pull that connector off the board and put a jumper where it was!

Use one off your cd drive if you have no extra ones, your just testing to see if the board will fire up, just make sure you put the jumpers back on the drive when done!

Either a to weak of a power supply or a dead motherboard, more that likley since the power supply fired up when you jumped it its the power switch or motherboard, hope its just the power button or the P/S

STRANGLEHOLD YOU ARE THE MAN!!! i am AT MY HOUSE right now and i am ON MY COMPUTER... i fixed it. thank you so much for your help!

i took this two pronged cap thing off of a three pronged thing (it was covering 2)... and i hooked the two prong plug into two of them prongs and it turned on like nothin. my jaw dropped. only thing now is, the only way to keep my computer totally off is to pull the power cord out of the back or manually shut it down from the start menu... if i ever touch the power button it basically restarts the computer... so im thinkin i hooked it into the restart slot... but its ok
