Major problems after frequent bsod

I've been experiencing frequent bsod recently (see my other thread) apologies, for the double post.. I'm panicking ATM
Removing Bit Defender hasn't worked & I've resorted to reinstalling Windows only to have the blue screen occur during the process (tried twice so far & it's occurred at different points) I've rebooted in safe mode & am about to try again.. Is there anything else I need to be doing, I'm kinda desperate now.

I can't reinstall either various 'files needed for installation are corrupt'

Ok calm down.

Then... (always touch the case before touching components)

  1. Shutdown computer.
  2. Remove ALL hardware except for essentials (i.e., motherboard, 1 stick of RAM, cpu, onboard graphics only if possible, one hdd for windows, keyboard, dvd drive).
  3. Turn the computer off at the PSU switch and the wall and leave the cable plugged in.
  4. Remove the motherboard battery.
  5. Hold down the computer's on switch for 30 seconds.
  6. Replace the motherboard battery.
  7. With only the essential hardware installed, start the computer (e.g. one stick of ram, no graphics card, 1 hdd etc)
  8. Enter the bios (usually tap the DEL or F2 key).
  9. Load fail safe settings.
  10. Save and restart.
  11. Shutdown.
  12. Insert the Windows DVD.
  13. Start the computer and boot from the DVD.
  14. Select Repair my computer.
  15. After it scans and allows your user input, select next.
  16. Select Command Prompt.
  17. In the command prompt type (assuming only one drive installed): chkdsk /f C:
  18. Let it scan and complete.
  19. Restart.
  20. Boot from Windows DVD again.
  21. Select Install.
  22. Agree to terms and conditions and select your Version of Windows.
  23. Then select Custom (Advanced)
  24. Delete all partitions that are shown by clicking Drive Options (advanced).
  25. Once all have been deleted select Next.
  26. Let Windows install. (Should Windows fail again, shutdown and carefully REPLACE the RAM stick with one other) and try again.
  27. If successful, completely update windows, but don't activate just yet.
  28. Once completely updated, shutdown and replace one piece of hardware at a time and start windows until you get another BSOD.
  29. Where you get a BSOD, shutdown and remove that piece of hardware and continue with other hardware until done.

Report back.
 
Sounds terrifying.. I've never done anything like you suggest, no idea where the motherboard battery is etc.
Guess I've little choice though, got to bite the bullet..

There's a problem.. No system image! (everything was set up by an ex friend) I'm currently at the System Recovery Options window..

It's in a repair shop atm.. Every time I tried to install Windows, I got some missing files error message.
I've opted for a complete HDD wipe/OS reinstallation.. Hopefully that will fix the issues I've been having.
