Hi, i have recently had alot of problems with my computer, I have formatted it with the pre installed solution and i have now used all 11 of my discs to completely do it, However when passing to the Windows XP logo when it states please wait the mouse cursor freezes up and nothing goes any further.

Does anyone have any ideas to what's happened or how to pass this? Thanks.

My first question is What was the nature of the problems you had prior to reinstalling Windows. The reason I ask is that a hardware fault will not be solved by a software reinstall.

Hi, well lightning hit around here a while ago and then the internet was having problems, But then the computer started to restart itself and everyone was saying it was a virus.. After doing this it won't pass it.. One of the RAM sticks was taken out aswell, My step-dad said it got screwed up.

I'm left confused

Are you able to boot into safe mode?

Restart, and after you see the POST screen (or hear the beep) start pressing F8 until you get the advanced boot options menu and choose Safe Mode.

If there was a problem with RAM well, I just did something i shouldnt of.. I took my RAM stick out and it was OVERLY HOT... I mean i couldnt hold it .. thats how hot it was...

Maybe this problem is RAM related?

RAM certainly shouldn't be too hot to hold.

If you have been affected by a lightning strike, that can cause all sorts of weird, hard to pin down, issues on the mainboard and connected hardware.

Hello, yes it was too hot.. i don't know if its worth going out and buying another ram stick... or knowing what one to buy.. i have seen them for $30..

so you dont have any other ram that you could borrow or anything? cos it would be annoying to spend even as little as 30 bucks unless you were sure it was the ram... first try it out with some other ram.
