Make a Dollar

OK this might be considered a dumb question:confused: but I will ask anyway, I have a thick skin.
I live in Australia and have a Telstra Bundle Acc which covers my Landline, Mobile and Internet. It includes 100 GB of internet usage per month, of which we normally only use 10 to 20 GBs.:)
I have just received a message from Telstra that they are increasing my monthly allowance by 100 GBs of Home Broadband to a total of 200 GBs. There is no cost, it is because I am so wonderful.:D
Question: Is there a SIMPLE EASY way I can make a buck out of that excessive allowance each month?
I might add that we are pensioners, and it is not a business account.:good:

You could find a router that supports the third party firmware DD-WRT and connect that to an outside omni directional WIFI antenna. Then in the router you set up (I think) Hotspot Shield and you create an account where you can make money. They will be served what is called a captive portal where [strike]they enter their billing info.[/strike] served ADs. I have seen the settings in my router, but I'd rather not mess with it. Besides, here in the U.S the new modems for Comcast (my ISP) has a WIFI hotspot built in for people to access. It's in a DMZ so that people can't connect to your LAN or anything like that. So if I were to set up a WIFI hotspot I would have competition. Damn Comcast has NBC and Universal. They make a ton of flipping money and now want the hotspot market.

Here's what it looks like:

Thanks Smithy, but that is all miles too complicated for this 75 year old brain. I might just ring Telstra and ask for a cheaper plan with maybe 20 or 30 Gbs / Month.

beers, Thanks mate, some times old brains do that.
Anyway now the excess has doubled so why not ask again?
Somebody new might pop up with a simple solution.
Sorry for the waste of space.
Cheers, Mate.:good:

No worries sir, not a waste of space.

Was just curious what you had in mind or were envisioning for how that could be given out.
