I'm helping someone long distance who just bought a full sized internal dvd drive without realizing that her dell optiplex gx240 small form factor machine has a slimline drive (which she wants to replace). If she can manage to fit it in, I assume she will run into connector problems as the slimline original would have a laptop type connector and the new drive needs a larger connector(s). Is there an adapter or a different cable she can get? I've seen slimline to ide adapters but they all go the wrong way. They let you use a slimline drive where there was a full sized drive. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

I dont think its possible due to size, unless the slimline was mounted using adaptors in a full size enclosure but being dell i dubt it. she will need to either return it to buy the proper one or buy a hd external enclosure.
