Make xp autodetect thumb drive

Hi all,

Anyone know if there a way to make Windows Xp auto detect my external thumb drive at startup?

My system does detect it when i put the thumb drive in the usb port but is there a way to make it show up in my computer without me having to keep take it out and put it back in at startup?
So i can just leave the drive in my usb port?

I mean if there isnt realy a way then it doesnt matter but just would be nice to save keep taking it out and putting it back in:)

I'm really sorry, I can't answer your question.

But I want to ask you how you got your motherboard's BIOS to 1.9, I am having troubles making a bootable CD-ROM which will do the job. Can you tell me how you came about doing that? Or did your motherboard come with BIOS 1.9?
