making a computer.... (MOBO)

okay, ill start making list what parts i already have and what i still need
ill take some pics of the stuff i will be using... then you guys can give comments what should be changer and so on.....

I've got my 555BE overclocked to 3.62 at the moment with no issues; mind you I'm using an aftermarket cooler.

ok, here some pics of my both computers, inside the case...

The Better One (DELL)

(the big plastic black thing is to protect the CPU and CPU Cooler... pretty hard to take off, tried to get it when i though about cleaning the CPU Cooler thing...)

and here is the crappier one (Compaq Evo something)

just outta curiosity.. whats wrong if my computer wont show anything on screen on startup and the "lights" are like this:

(both power and "loading" light is on... not flashing or anything.. just on!... i did pick the PC in parts couple days ago... then putted it back together (it didn't work properly when i started taking it apart)...)

Wait wait wait, are you going to try and upgrade these OEM machines?

uhm, whats an aftermarket cooler?

Any cooler that doesn't come with the CPU. Instead of using the stock heatsink that came with my CPU, I got this one instead:

Again I ask, are you looking to use parts out of these machines?

It's attached to the heatsink. You need to unscrew the screws at the base and then swivel it around. It'll be hard because the thermal paste will have fused together.

Try reseating your RAM. If that doesn't work, try one stick at a time.

yes, i would like to use as many (good) parts as possible from these computers, so that i wouldn't need to spend too much money on the new parts..

oki, ill try reseating the RAM and stuff..

hmm... i only have one RAM stick that is 512mb.. so i tried... but it didn't help... i just started wondering... because for mu PSU comes many cables out.... so is it a better idea to use one cable to many places (if the cable has many "outposts"... u know what im saying? xD) or just use a own cable to every part... once i have enough cables from PSU... even some extras... xD

No idea what you're talking about.

And as far as a new computer goes, the only thing you might even want to consider using from (the Dell) is the hard drive; maybe the CD drive too.

hmm, okay... i will see... now i found some Motherboards, and was wondering what you guys think about 'em, whats good, whats bad....

AMD Phenom II X2 555 BE

damit, the price of the GIGABYTE got over 100e (103e)... so i (just in case) searched for some others... i found 2 from ASUS... anyone know anything about these? any pros/cons?
