Making end process actually work

I've just about had it with XP and Vista and killing processes in task manager. Half the time it never kills said process no matter how many times I click it. Anyone know of a way/program that will make this work better? Tired of restarting the computer because a program won't load because it is 'already running' and unable to be terminated.

Yes, goto the processes tab, an find the executible an right click, then click end task(that usally works, unless you were talkin bout this, an not "end task" on the applacations tab, otherwise Idk, sounds like you need to reformat or sumthin. When mine gets like that it means I have alot of crap on my computer,...)
