Making Laptop Faster

Hiya

I have a HP Compaq Presario CQ61-305SA With Windows 7 32 Bit

Well its a pretty fast machine, but as its been used by family members its got a bit slower and wish to speed it up.

i do not have the windows disk either.

can i remove program from my add and remove program option to make it faster.
if its ok ill list whats on there and can u tell me if its needed or not

i have other on there but i know i got keep them as some are apple stuff thats to use for my iphone an itunes..

anything else i can make it a bit faster, im no computer person i know very very little
 
hi. i have now removed safari and win rar

im unsure what i use,

main things are using my iphone as a modem. watch tv on the internet. internet use with explorer an google chrome (do i need both or jus 1)

basically send emails, chat on msn, explore the internet such as ebay and forums. an play a few games i have (all on disk not downloadable ones)
 
your can use a software to help you to remove the programs you won't use in your computer.and you could remove the rubbish in your system.i think your computer will be faster if you do what i said.
 
You should get CCleaner, and run a full registry scan and fix. defrag the disk, clean up files, all that sort of thing. That will free up a bit of disk space and quicken up the machine.
 
Uninstalling programs will free up disk space but won't necessarily effect the performance of your laptop unless those programs have processes that are running all the time. Use Task Manager to see which processes are running and using the cpu cycles. You can use msconfig or ccleaner to check which programs are starting with Windows and eliminate any that aren't essential.
