Making Mozilla default

Hey guys, does anybody of u know how to make firefox a default browser for ALL internet access? I did it but it does not work when I click to check my mail from msn messenger. Is it possible to set so that hotmail from msn messenger also opens with Firefox reply. I am using VISTA platform.

Open firefox,click tools then options,click the advanced panel,click the general tab then click check now, then set it as yes.

It did not work for me, "i am a noob", thanks anyways... when i try to access my hotmail box through msn messenger it still uses the internet explorer
