Making Plugins Available on your Site

I was wondering how you go about making plugins available to visitors on your site.

I need plugins for Flash & Quicktime mainly, but I don't know how it works. Is there some code that you can add to your pages that checks to see if the user has the necessary plugins and/or makes plugins available for download?

I also have to try to allow the user to download the plugin directly from my site rather than having to go chasing it on other websites.

My site is for a client, so if anyone has any ideas or suggestions I'd love to hear them! :P

I think this link might be able to help you out:
http://blog.deconcept.com/category/quicktime/

It's the second blog entry I believe. However, i think its for quicktime.. Seeing in other posts that you know a fair amount of HTML, I can say that you can probably figure it out if you need another codec detection thiing.. I have reason to believe that it'll be the sam for other things.. if not, then I'm not sure :)

To have them download directly from your site.. I am also not sure.. but hopefully that site explains it.. if not.. Maybe linking it to the official site.

Hope it was the right information
