hey, does anybody know what software i can use to make my own professional or semi-professional news video. This is a project for school. The video will only be about 5 minutes long. I need something to put backgrounds onto my video, and put in a square with pictures, like anchormen do. i will be acting as a reporter and as a reporter. there will be 2 scenes. anybody know any software i can use?

When i did a similar project at school we used premier pro. But sony vegas is better.

Windows movie maker might work, but i dont know if it has chroma key. Chroma key is what you need to get a logo in the corner.

ok, well im running windows 7, so is premier pro for windows or mac? so i guess i can download a trial of one of those to do my project, right?

I'd recommend Sony Vegas 8.0 Pro for you. I have the full version and i must say 5/5 for rating. I can make my own professional HD Videos in True Definition.
;)

Yeah my teacher said that vegas is much better than premier pro.

Just that I haven't used it before and i have done what he wants to do in premier pro before.

I have had sony vegas for some time now and i just keep using it now and then because i enjoy making videos with all its effects and transitions. If you're buying a full version then its real worth it. and i have it also installed on one of my old computers with 450mb of ram and still works fast and fine.

ok well i need to either have a voice modifier built in or need to download a voice modifier. does anybody have any suggestions? since i will be capturing the video with my logitech webcam, does anybody know how to put in backgrounds behind the video either in the quickcam software or in premier pro or vegas.

Premier is pretty much the industry standard. The other great thing is that it works really well with other Adobe products like After Effects. Also a lot of great plugins available.
