hey guys i am not too got with malware and the such but i am pritty certain that there is malware on my computer. I am unable to start the microsoft defult defragment, i can not update my anti-virus, i am often sent to the wrong web adress and my computer is running alot slower than normal.

What is the best way to remove this malware? best program? and the best way to protect my computer in the future?

cheers guys

yeah i have, but when i try to click on it to run it nothing happens and i dont know why. must not have installed properly or something then i try to uninstall it and that doesnt work either.

sorry forgot to mention

ok i managed to get it uninstalled and then when i tried to reinstal it it froze with a full bar saying finalising instalation. so i ended the setup process after 15 minutes of waiting and it still would to work so i uninstalled it again and installed it. I tried this about 4 times and got the setup exe from numerous different sites. Why would this happen i mean i cant even open it

cheers

You might have to slave that drive in a different system and run a virus scan on it. If it's too badly infected, you won't get nothing to run that will clean it, which include malwarebytes, superantispyware, or combofix.

I have attached the log and there is a description of the problem in previous posts. thanks guys

also i cannot run any anti virus programs i have tried just like johnb35 said, but hopefully there is something out there

cheers

You are extremely infected.

When you put the drive into another system what kind of scans did you run and what programs did you use? You need to run virus and malware scans on it. Use AVG free and malwarebytes antimalware, you will have to do full scan and pick the slave drive to scan it.

Have you tried combofix? It may help some to get to where you can at least run other programs?

If malwarebytes won't run, chances are high that combofix won't run either. I've had great success by slaving the drive in a different system and scanning that way and then put it back in original system and finish scanning.

Hey I havnt tried putting my drive into another system but i will once i get one organised. I have never done it before is it just a metter of swapping my drive for the one in the other system and then running some scans or are ther other things i should do.

cheers

When you add it to another system, at least do a virus scan on it using the free version of AVG. I also believe you can run Malwarebytes full scan and select the drive to scan. But AVG should catch the offending file stopping programs from running with the drive in the original system.

ohh ok so i put it in the other system without removing the original harddrive from that system. ill give it a shot fingures crossed thanks mate

Yes, put your drive into a different system but make sure the bios is set to boot to the original drive and not yours. Sometimes when you add drives it changes the boot order.

ok say after several days of slow progress trial and error and after backing up the files on the other hardrive ( i havn't had much time) i realised as i went to ghost mine that i have a Sata and the only computer i have availiable to me has an IDE harddrive and hence IDE connections so mine is not compatible with the conections currently in the other computer. now i am not very familiar with this so the solution may be easy but how do i get my hardrive in?

could i take the cable from my computer and use it in the other? if so where would i put it?

as i said im not too familiar with this kind of thing so bare with me and please try to understand if i dont. thanks for you help so far and i would appriciate any more assistance.

cheers

Would it work if i took the IdE hard drive out of my other computer and in to the one with the virus as my new computer has the old connections? and then just on start up change the bios to make the IDE the master drive?

let me know

If you put a drive into a different system and make it the primary bootable and you tempt to boot to it all the hardware is different and it will screw up the installation and you'll have a bigger mess then when you started.
