Many Windows 7/MOBO issues

My first system build. I'm using an Asus M4a78T-E MOBO and running Win 7 64 bit home. First startup and run clean with no issues. Everything worked as should. After about a week of really tuning all the software and drivers that I wanted and updating system started getting really strange and annoying crashes, some violent and some subtle. I evenytually reinstalled win 7 again, but becuase of the constant crashes it took severl attempts before I successfully reinstalled win 7.

Now on top of the crashes still occurring I have new issues. For one, Win only detects my LAN card as an unplugged device and will not use it, despite have the most recent Atheros (my LAN card brand) LAN drivers. So i have to run my modem through usb now. Also when I put my system to sleep, It immediatly wakes right back up with no hesitation. When I hold down the power button now to power it off, it immediately powers right back on. And win 7 has frozen up twice and had to be restarted just trying to type this post in. Really stressful, considering how long I' ve been fighting to get this thing working correctly.

I've read somewhere that something about the APCI drivers for asus not working with win 7 and to update them or use the vista drivers but I have not been able to figure out how to get any said ACPI drivers. I have Driver detective and everything is up to date and all win updates are done.

You should totally format your drive and start over, its possible you didn't do that when you reinstalled win 7, you may have only done a repair instead.

Boot to the windows 7 dvd and follow the prompts to delete partition and then reparition, then install windows. Note that if you have any data you need on this drive that you need to back it up cause formatting will make you lose everything.
