massive problem with my computer,

when i start up, theres no start menu or anything,

all the programs on my desktop flash for a second then the screen is just the regular desktop

i access the internet by going into ctrl alt delete and clicking new task and browsing my programs until i get to mozilla


i did a system restore but the problem is still the same

any help ??
 
Try and see if you can start explorer manualy.

Ctrl, Alt + Del > File > New Task > type in "explorer.exe"
 
To me there seems to be some sorta virus or spyware/adware or even just a system error with windows.

Try these ... Open explorer.exe

Then when everything is loaded press the Start Button
- > Run... -> 'Type': MSCONFIG.EXE
in msconfig click the startup tab then click disable all then apply and then restart. Leave the ones on you know and trust.

Now do a adware and spyware scan and virus scan.

Now if there unsucessful, if you have an XP disc do a system repair.
