Max WAV File Size For WMP ??

I hope this is the correct spot for this. Anyway, I get a notice from Windows Media Player that says, Buffer Not Large Enough, when I try to play a rather large WAV file (3.06 GB.). I am just curious if anyone knows what the maximum WAV file size that WMP can play. I'm Running: XP Pro / Pent. 4 660 (3.6 GHz.) / 2 GB. DDR2-667 SDRAM / 3060MB. Page File / 250 GB. 7.2K rpm.. H.D.D. with 16MB. cache (213 GB. free space). Also, can I adjust the available cache for WMP???
Thanks in advance for any and all info. :)

Up your pagefile higher, It's prabally buffering it all into your RAM, and when it goes over your normal RAM, ir would try and use your virtual ram(pagefile) so up that higher then the WAV file and it should work fine. And even though it technically is the same as the file, there is always going to be ram used up by window's and such, just up it to 4GB's or so.

NOPE! 4096MB. is the max that Windows will allow me to choose on Pageing File size. Anyone else have any ideas? It's really not too big of a deal, it was just an experiment anyway. I was just curious what I could get away with. ;)

i couln't find anything but i've seen limitations with AVI files at 2 Gb, so my guess would be the same here.
also, i dont think it reads the whole file like that anyway, it'd store a bit of the file but it would "shuffle" through the file by loading chunks of it.... i think that makes sense

Thanks for the input Harry.
Like I said, It's just an experiment. I'm just beginning to learn how to capture, edit, and work with audio files, so there will be many more bumps in the road ahead. Ever use Audacity??
