Maximize virtualbox os

I've had a good time messing around with linux in virtualbox lately. And I really like some of the different distros. What really catches my attention is the seemless mode. I would definitely use it, but The resources you can give to the virtual machine are very limited, namely the video. Well, really just the video.

You can allow the guest os to access up to 4 cores, any amount of ram you want, any amount of hdd space, but only 128mb of vram. And its not even from your video card.

is there anyway i can change that. I know one problem is that, it uses its own video driver. can i force it to use my video card instead?

If you install the guest additions in VirtualBox you can get better visual performance but it won't be as good as the real OS.

Yeah I did that. That's what installs the virtualbox driver. I need a way around that

Also, you can go into the graphics settings for the VM and enable 3D video acceration. Also be sure you installed the experimental 3D acceleration video driver with Guest Additions. It won't increase your VRAM, but it will increase performance.

I think you can install VM Lite. It is a virtual machine for Windows Vista and 7.

VB has more features than the free version of VMWare.
