Maxtor DiamondMax 22 problem

I have Maxtor DiamondMax 22 STM3500320AS
My motherboard recognize it in the bios page but when i load the windows (windows 7) it won't show or recognize it, i used acronis director suit and i made i bootable CD with acronic, i tried to delete the partition format it or even making a new partition it won't and says error, although i can explore it using acronis in bootable status.
I update the firmware but the problem stays
SO whats the problem, can anyone help me?
and does anyone know a program that may fix it using dos?

What error is Acronis giving you?

Also, do you have the SATA port/chipset enabled in the BIOS? Is the drive directly connected to the motherboard or through a SATA controller card? Just because the drive shows up in the BIOS does not always mean it is available to the OS.

When you say it wont show or recognize it do you mean it doesn't appear under computer?
