mcafee and norton

Simple anwser! YES!! Get rid of norton and stick with Mcafee. Ahh better yet, get rid of both of them and either get AVG or Nod32. Norton is known as a system hog and can clow your pc down alot and is not the best at detecting things.

do you have both firewalls?

i have had horrible experiences with nortan, the only thing nortan have over other security software is there advertising advantage.

they have nortan in nearly every shop, even free trial installed on new computers...

makes me so angry i wee myself

^^ Yup and un-installing norton leaves alot of services still running which, still causes the system hog.

Yes it will probably cause problems. If you have the full, monthly version of both, I would only use mcafee, but if you have one as a trial version, use the non-trial version.

BASICLY!

you get a turd (NORTAN) polish it (ADVERTISING) then you are left with a polished turd!!!

end of the day its still a turd!

would i go to shop and ask for a polished turd please-NOPE lol

im only angry because i have fallen for it before

I would ditch both of them and go for either Eset smart security OR the Full version of AVG.

personaly i reccomend the Eset smart security :)

mcafee and norton HUM, I would have to think real hard. The first thing that comes to mind is Dumb and Dumber.

Oi funky... it's spelt norton.

I'm not voting for either, you can get decent protection all for free. I currently have Comodo Firewall Pro installed, paired up with Avira AntiVir, with a few other *free* programs. All free. All good. Norton sucks. Blue is a color. And the song goes on...

I've hated Norton since the DOS days, when there disk tool had erased my hard drive. Ever since, I don't deal with Norton, Norton is for people that has no clue how to use a computer. I would be called by people to come over and see there new computers they would by, and my first suggestion is to pull that out of there and get the free version of avg or avast

its not spelt like that either-its spelt like this----\/

TURD :D

As a general rule, it is never good to have 2 anti-virus software in the same computer. At least, I personally have never seen anyone need to, due to conflict.

Anti-spyware, on the other hand, is a different story but I digress... I am using AVG right now and I like it so far. Changing from Norton Antivirus, I definitely notice a performance difference especially during boot-up.

As an alternative, you can also take a look at Avira AntiVir found here.

Hope this helps. :)

Go with ESET Nod32 or Total Security. Avast and Norton are system hogs. AVG is all right.

So... Are you going to post back??
