Not a very convincing experience, definitely not enough to convince me that an entire brand is better than another.

I'm not here to convince you, I'm here to ask and give help on computers, so if you don't like it then that's fine humans are entitled to there opinions. but this is my personal experience with the brand and it is what it is

To me it sounds like you expected the non-upgraded machine to be faster. That's just a little foolish don't you think?

no, i upgraded the CPU but bought the same mobo i had before (my fault for not going into detail) and i never said "amd is the best" i said stay away from Intel and you all jumped up in arms, i'm not here to be mean or argue with you guys so chill out

Anyway, this is getting way off topic. You can't say something about brand A vs brand B

1) without something to justify it (without having someone pry the information out of you)
2) by generalizing an entire brand you usually make your statement to vague to be universally true (ie my P4 will whip my K6-2's ass anyday)

That's fine that you give your opinion, but just back it up or make sure you state as an opinion, not as fact - ie preface it with "in my opinion" or "my experience with..."

I was only refering to the intial post and trying to explain why he had reason to call you a fan boy, from the sound of things you had an Intel CPU die on you and you said go with AMD because of that. What do you want me to say? You're not a fanboy? I didn't call you one in the first place, either way a brand statement like 'amd good, intel bad' or 'intel sucks' or 'amd sucks' or whatever will get you called a fanboy everytime.

and no i had an Intel die on me but that's not the complete reason, you see even when the Intel was in working condition it was slower than the amd that was on about the same level. and i never said 'amd good, Intel bad' 'intel sucks' or any of that garbage

there's a very clear line between fanboyism and opinion i was on the side of the later, if i said "dude Intel sucks sooo much! they are all slow and crap get amd" then you would have every right to say fan boy but your so narrow minded that as soon as i said "stay away from intel" you freaked and i didn't even once say and was better in that statement

umm....ummm...yes person who started thread i think your computer might have a chance of being better than his but thats not what you should be trying for. before you waste money on something you need and if you say gaming think of the games you will play then look for websites that will tell you the reccomended requirements for that game and go a step higher than that. pretty much anything else would only need a ok computer maybe 1-2 ghz for the CPU and around 512mb of memory. (come on people help me get this thing back on track)

Yeah, I agree with Trizoy totally. If you're building a comp just to have it beat your friends, then you shouldn't be building it at all, I mean you might end up finding out that you didnt really need a $500 video card, but you wasted the money on it anyway.

Its a trade off, your CPU is a little better, his video is a little better

A little better? The CPUs are damn near on par and the VC has an enormous advantage

i had an Intel on my old mobo, it was slower than when i upgraded to a new mobo with same ram. plus the reason for the switch in the first place was my CPU failing

Both Intel and AMD are excellent cpu's, AMD just has an edge over intel in the gaming area.
