Media Player and Bit Torrents

Can someone tell me a little more about Bit torrents...

Also, after I downloaded the file, I double clicked on it, and Media Player opened, but there was an error message -

Unable to download an appropriate decompressor. (Error=80040200)

No combination of filters could be found to render the stream. (Error=80040218)

So, I can't watch anything!! Please Please help!

it might just be a corrupted file what site u downloading them from.

I downloaded the VLC player and it managed to play everything!

I guess my media player was just strange?

It happens frequently that one media player will not play a file, while another player on the same machine, presumably working with the same set of codecs, will play the file just fine.
