Media player not recognising hard drive

Hey guys, just recently bought a media player & am having some troubles. I've got two portable hard drives (250gb & 500gb) & neither of them seem to be recognised by the media player. They both have a y-cable usb & the media player has 2 usb outlets, but it still doesn't recognise either hard drive.

Is there anything that anyone can think of, that might be the problem?

What kind of y cable are you using? If it has 2 usb inputs, why do you need a y cable?

Also, make sure it is capable of reading from an hdd. Many tvs can read from usb drives but not hard drives for some reason.

It would be better if you discuss with tech support people according to your problem. I am sure tech support people will guide you properly for solve your computer problems.
