Megabytes gigabyes...

ok so say i have 6448.6 mega bytes on my harddrive how much gigabytes does that transfer out to?

Also i got a second hdd for my desktop and its a western digital WD caviar 26400 do i need a program for my mobo to recgonnize the second hdd or well it jsut configue automaticaly?

First off 6448.6mb is 6.44gb. 1000 conversion. Also, your computer should automatically recognize the second hdd. Hope this helps.

Divide the megabyte value by 1024 to get the gigabyte value (or by 1000 if you want the hdd manufacturer's figures).

To install your second HDD you just need to make sure the jumpers are set up correctly (should be labeled on the drive) and you'll be good to go.

Depends on the size of the drvie and how old the mobo is :)
