Alright I had my brand new Toshiba M50 Laptop brought into the shop because it wouldnt boot up and gave errors.. etc.etc.. They replaced the Harddrive and is still waiting for the Memory module. They said that they put in a slower one 2700 so I can use it for now and when the part comes in, 3300, they would give me a call and swap it for me. The part is on Back Order and they dont know when it will be available. My question is... Will I feel a big difference in speed? What else would be affected?

probably not. if your not playing bf2 u wont notice. maybe a small bit in music ripping or video work. but other than that u will surivive. :)

Its pretty wierd.. I noticed that when I was looking through the specs of the laptop it says "512MB P2700 DDR SDRAM for multitasking power, expandable to 1.5GB"

So.. did the place make a mistake? and going to give me a faster memory chip? hmm. I kinda dont want to ask hehe.. b/c if it is a mistake on their part, then I would like to have the faster memory chip.

are you sure they said pc3300, no such speed of ram exists, there is pc3500, and pc3200 (the later is more common)

well either way.. my comp came with PC2700... Ill go ahead and ask when i pick it up today to make sure.

1 more thing.. how do i tell its running PC2700? Is there somewhere i can go to check? I want to make sure when I go to pick up the laptop today its running like factory specs.

You most likely wont notice the difference between PC2700 and PC3200 short of running benchmarks :)
