Since I bought my computer it has been slow took it to Fry's Electronics and they installed 4 single sticks of MB Ram memory.I only had 2 500 MB .Is it possible to install 5 sticks or it has to be an even number?

It depends on your system, some support up to 6 but most support 4 or less. If you know your systems model number or motherboard we can look it up but it's probably a safe assumtoion that you're maxed out on the number of RAM sticks you can install.

The (comp.expert) from Frye's Electronics said that it will support 6 sticks. But when he installed the 4 single sticks of 1000 each said he couldn't use the 2 original Half sticks(500 each) that were in the computer when I brought it in.Is there a reason I can't also use those and have 5000 MB of memory?

as asked, what is the computer that you have?

If as the guy said it can have 6 memory sticks, no, there is no reason why you can't have the other sticks in aswell

The only thing I can think of is maybe 2 of the slots are DDR2 (or DDR3) and the other 4 are the other spec. But again without knowing the system it's hard to say.

Can you write your full system configuration? So the computer masters can give you proper response apart from other.

unless 4 are DDR and 2 DDR2, I doubt that greatly because he had only 2x512before. For a system that supports DDR3, unless it was bought cheaply, I'd have expected it to have more than that
