Memory being used up . . . ?

I'm having issue with Windows XP Media w/ service pack 3. It's saying I've pretty much reached my limit of space on the hard drive. The drive is 220GB capacity and the best I've been able to track down is roughly about 85 gb of stuff on the computer.

How do I hunt and kill whatever is taking up those 140 GB?

Check the system's back up utility, my laptop had the same problem, it was actually the IBM software that was taking backup's and storing them away, and i had had about 50Gb of backup files that the system had been automatically taking.

Well, I've checked the system's backup utility, erased any backed up files, erased temp folders, cleaned disk, checked disk for errors, wiped out pretty much all my personal documents and media.

What I've gained from all of this is about 60 gb. Which is exactly proportional to the amount that I've been able to detect. However, the hard drive is still reading that I have about 160 gb of my 225 gb hard drive used up. This pretty much equates to about 140 gb of undetermined used space.

Any computer whizes out there?

HELP!
