Have 6GB of kingston triple channel DDr3 1600 cl9 and i wanted to get another 6gb but this memory is not stocked anymore but i can get my hands on some Corsair of the same spec. Would having 6 of king and 6 of corsair be wise or unwise?. I always believed having the same brand would ultimately work best. Any thoughts on this please advise and thanks in advance for taking the time to answer.

Mine never gets near 6GB when playing BF3 at ultra settings. Sounds like something is eating your RAM.
Let's find out whats running at bootup thats useing up your memory.
Download the HijackThis installer from here.
Run the installer and choose Install, indicating that you accept the licence agreement. The installer will place a shortcut on your desktop and launch HijackThis.
Vista and windows 7 users need to right click on the icon and click on run as. If the run as option doesn't appear then press and hold the shift key while right clicking on the icon.
Click Do a system scan and save a logfile
Most of what HijackThis lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.
When the hijackthis log appears in a notepad file, click on the edit menu, click select all, then click on the edit menu again and click on copy. Come back to your reply and right click on your mouse and click on paste.
Post the logfile that HijackThis produces

Hey john b i will try that tonight. I also downloaded memtest86 to see if i have bad memory but when i run it it will just sit at the test select screen and dosnt run. I run the same disk on another computer and it works. Now im thinking something else is wrong with my i7 rig. Comp specs are at the bottome . Any ideas?

Did you select what test to run? If you use the USB installer and boot to a USB drive, it starts right away:

By the *NEW!* download. You just select your USB drive and it formats and "installs" memtest right on it. Then just select USB in your boot selection.

Ok i did the usb mem test and that worked and shows a error. I have 3 sticks how do i know which is bad? I provided a pic to show what it says. I'm guessing i need new memory. Any ideas on what i should upgrade to? Guess another question is i have 6 slots and 3 sticks. I see they are color coded 3and 3. Can i use say 5 of the 6 slots or does it have to have even 3 and then another 3. Reason i ask this is i can buy another 3 of this type to give myself more ram but if it wont work 5 of 6 slots then ill have to go another route and mabie buy faster and better memory.

To know which one is bad test them individually.
You can use 5 sticks but it won't be triple channel. Realistically dual channel is enough but you won't even have true dual channel if you have 5 sticks. How long have you had the RAM? It's likely still under warranty (think all their RAM is still lifetime) and Kingston will replace it for you. It can be a bit of a hassle though.
