I am currently running (2 x 1024 ) gigs of dual channel pc3200 DDr memory and would like to know if I can add another 1024 mb ? I understand that if I us all four of my slots that this causes problems with my current setup. By adding just one more Gig would it effect the way that my two sticks are running in dual channel? I would be using 3 slots only out of the four. This is my setup.

My System
Windows Vista Ultimate
Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe
Amd 64x2 4400+ dual core cpu
Ultra 800 watt
2 Evga 7900gs Pci express cards
2 gigs Corsair Value memory ( 2 x 1024 )
Pri. HD WD 10,000 rpm 74gb sata raptor
Sec > HD WD 7200 rpm 250gb sata 2
Samsung DL DVD Burner with Lightscribe
NEC DL DVD burner
Case Aspire Navigator

Thanks for all the help. Would the 2 sticks still run dua channel even if I add another 1 gig stick or would I lose the dual channel all together? Also would I lose performance?

So you think that the two orginial sticks would no longer run in dual channel by adding 1 more stick . I really can't add two more sticks due to the fact that the AMD64 boards won't run well using all four slots.

You'll lose some memory bandwidth by going to single channel (the max bandwidth will be roughly half of what it would be dual channel). 3 sticks will not run in dual channel mode.

lol yeah, it's funny how people don't listen to what you're saying -.-

If you're running dual channel, you need to always install memory in pairs.
IE. Slots 1&3, 2&4.
Can't have 1&3 + 2
It just won't POST.
So you'd have to run in single channel.

But like Crome said, you'll cut your bandwidth in half, but gain 50% more ram.
So is it worth it? that's up to you.
I think not.

But I'm running 4 modules on my AMD64 platform, and have no issues.
