Details and Pictures of DDR1, DDR2 and DDR3

Hello robertbiferi,

here are the details and pictures of the the 3 different types of DDR memory.

DDR1 184 pin

DDR2 240 pin

DDR3 240 pin.

These are for standard DIMM modules. Let us not forget our small outline friends, the SO-DIMM. :)

32bit transfer variants - 72 and 100 pin configurations
64bit transfer variants - 144, 200, and 204 pin configurations.

Notch locations varies per DDR spec.

thanks but

I just need some more help.

Can you put up a Photo of a DDR 3 face on I could not see that photo to good.

And am I right that all SIMMs 30 Pin and 72 Pin bot are just 8. Bits

The original RAMBUS bus was only 16bits wide and later doubled to 32bits (dual channel) if that is what you are asking.

Yes, you can get RDRAM with ECC.

The current (defunct) state of RAMBUS memory has a 32bit bus in a dual-channel configuration, yes. The single channel modules are only 16bit.

Where are you getting the 72bit number from? Are you talking about the module's pin count?

RDRAM technology, while faster than the SDRAM at the time, had much higher latency, produced significantly more heat, and had a higher cost. When DDR memory launched for consumers it offered higher speed for a lower cost. The technology couldn't compete in the market or on the bench.
