Memory Help

i'm not so good with computer so maybe you computer genius can help...

Okay for this game (the Sims 2) i need memory of 256MB
but i wanna try not to buy a new memory card so.. is there a way i can get more memory with out buying a memory card...
like can i uninstall programs and slowly regain MB?
Sorry if i sound stupid

how much memory do you currently have installed?! if its just 128mb then you willl have to buy more to have more. if you want to utilize ALL your EXISTING ram then yes, uninstalling apps will give you better performance in sims2. but it wont "give" you more ram, it'll just be able to use more of your existing RAM for that program. get what i eman? 512MB should be minimum for any gaming machine...you need an upgrade for newer games.
