I run 2gb of Kinston Value Ram on the Asus A8N SLI model at 2.5v which is the factory default without problems seen. A good freeware for a full breakdown on system information as well as seeing what voltage is set for the memory under the hardware section in the SIW tool found at http://www.gtopala.com/

Thanks for the the info that is areally nice tool. I had been using PC Wizard 2007 but I like this one better. Why would one want to raise the voltage? Does it make the PC faster ? I'm not much on overclocking and I'm just trying to learn so please excuse the dumb questions.

I'm too lazy to look up your motherboard specs, but are we talking about DDR or DDR2 here? If it's DDR2, I would never go above 2.4v at all, 2.2v is high enough for me, unless you dont mind overheating your RAM.

Now DDR is a different story, and 2.5v sounds about right. Just set it to what ever the RAM specs say it runs at.

The sig points out a 939 model board there. That runs DDR 400 memory. The 2.5v setting is Asus default for memory. For ocing you would step that up to 2.6v or even 2,7v max. never more. For stock you generally wouldn't go under 2.4v for DDR memory.
